Holiday apartment at the Höga Kusten (High Coast)

The holiday apartment "Bruno Biber" is perfectly suited for your holidays at the High Coast. It offers enough room for up t o six persons to relax and to experience the holidays together.
Totally it has three bedroooms for two persons each. A special highlight is the bedroom with the four-poster.
Another bedroom has two single beds, which can be put together without any propblems. The very spacious built-in cupboard completes this nice room. The third bedroom can be used either for overnight stay (very comfortable and high-quality convertible sofa which does not cause any backache) or for watching TV together (German Sat TV and DVD player). Also here you will find th typical, very practical and spacious built-in cupboards.
A spacious kitchen-cum-living-room with fridge/freezer combination, electric cooker, extractor hood, coffee machine, electric kettle is completely furnished/equipped for the perfect holidays. At a pull-out dining table with kitchen bench and chairs you can excellently have your meals, particularly when experiencing such a beautiful view of the High Coast nature which is really lovely. A shower bath with WC, completed in October 2009, offers a good standard.
Already when entering the large hall with an additional built-in cupboard, you can suspect the spaciousness of the Bruno Biber apartment.

In Mjällom you will find, of course, not only beautiful nature and peace, but also the important things of life – a small supermarket with chemist´s, Systembolaget (alcohol selling), sub-post office and filling station, about 500 meters away from your holiday domicile. Right opposite you will find the cultural café with coffee, cake and hot meals and there are also changing exhibitions of local artists. From the small port in Mjällom you can go for a fantastic tour to the fiords by using the regular route for connecting boat service. At the other side of the penisula, about 5 minutes away, you will find a nice restaurant, a pottery workshop, including a small exhibition, very nice places for picnic with extra barbecue areas and a hiking trail adapted to the needs of disabled persons. In winter there are also cross-country ski runs laid out. In Norrfällsviken you can spend the day at a 18-hole golf course with a fantastic view of the fiords. Or you can enjoy a day at the beach (Strosand) by sunbathing, volleyball or swimming. And there are a lot of other destinations in the surrounding.

The Höga Kusten (High Coast) is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and certainly the most beautiful landscape in Schweden. High mountains directly at the Baltic Sea, endless seeming forests, deep and clear lakes, rich in fish, nature reserves with scarcely occuring flora and fauna and in addition cosy fishing villages and lively towns with happy and friendly people.
In summer you can go swimming, hiking, sunbathing, celebrate Midsummer´s Night, go fishing, riding, sailing and much more – in winter skiing (downhill skiing at one of the many ski runs in the surrounding with aprés-ski or cross-country skiing in the deep snow), toboggan, build snomen or just to experience really white Christmas. But also the other two times of the year really offer a lot – Indian summer in autumn, the spring with an unbelievable explosion of nature in a green never seen before.
On your way to Mjällom you will pass, for example, Omneberget, a nature reserve. Here you will find a fantastic lake for swimming and fishing. After a curve you will be surprised by a view of one of the many fiords with deeply wooded slopes. You will meet reindeers right next to the road, observe elks at one of the many lakes or picking in late summer blueberries, raspberries etc. which you will find everywhere in the forests.

    Ĺngermanland

Ĺngermanland is a province located relatively up north on the Baltic coast. The largest city is called Örnsköldsvik and the county seat is in the town of Härnösand. The region is characterized by creeks that cut deep into the country, deep forests and many islands in the archipelago.
Ĺngermanland's characteristic is UNESCO's World Heritage “High Coast” (Höga Kusten) in Kramfors. Here, the uplift after the last ice age created a unique coastal landscape. South of Örnsköldsvik you will find Skuleskogen National Park and its mountain Skuleberget. You can go up on the mountain by cable car and enjoy the view of the High Coast.
Härnösand is known for its picturesque wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. The most famous buildings are the cathedral, the residence building and the city hall. Even in the open-air museum Murberget typically wooden buildings are displayed. Historically significant buildings are also the military barracks and the courthouse in Sollefteĺ.
From Köpmanholmen south of Örnskoldsvik you can go by boat to the islands Ulvön and Trysunda. These islands are famous for their picturesque fishing villages and small churches. From the coastal areas in Ĺngermanland one of the country's food specialties derives, fermented herring (Surströmming). This is herring that has been preserved by fermentation and has a very strong scent.
Welcome to explore Ĺngermanland – the region of the High Coast and fermented herring!
