Mini holiday home with a view of the lake

In the forests of the North of Sweden you will find a farm named "Backsjön", a little paradise with an own place for bathing, beautiful nature and located at a lake.
The small hut, which has a size of 12 square meters, is located at the property of the landlord and offers with one room with kitchen corner and bunk bed as well as extra bed and terrace enough room for up to three persons. The bathroom with shower has a separate location and will be shared with other guests at the farm.
For example, there are different animals at the farm like donkeys, Siberian huskies, Dutch white hats (a chicken species) and cats. When you are interested also donkey riding for children or a forest walk with donkeys can be organized on-site.
But also without any amusement with animals you can easily occupy/deal yourself with something else. You can try your luck as a gold panner, go fishing or go on a beaver safari.
Even an own place for bathing and a lovely barbecue area not far from the river is offered here by this settlement. Another special feature of Backsjön is the fact that they are cultivating tulips here. Between the end of May and the end of June the landlord has his tulip garden opened for visitors and offers also different activities.
In case you feel like visiting a larger town, you can go for a trip to Sollefteå which is about 25 kilometers away from here.

    Ĺngermanland

    Ĺngermanland is a province located relatively up north on the Baltic coast. The largest city is called Örnsköldsvik and the county seat is in the town of Härnösand. The region is characterized by creeks that cut deep into the country, deep forests and many islands in the archipelago.
    Ĺngermanland's characteristic is UNESCO's World Heritage “High Coast” (Höga Kusten) in Kramfors. Here, the uplift after the last ice age created a unique coastal landscape. South of Örnsköldsvik you will find Skuleskogen National Park and its mountain Skuleberget. You can go up on the mountain by cable car and enjoy the view of the High Coast.
    Härnösand is known for its picturesque wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. The most famous buildings are the cathedral, the residence building and the city hall. Even in the open-air museum Murberget typically wooden buildings are displayed. Historically significant buildings are also the military barracks and the courthouse in Sollefteĺ.
    From Köpmanholmen south of Örnskoldsvik you can go by boat to the islands Ulvön and Trysunda. These islands are famous for their picturesque fishing villages and small churches. From the coastal areas in Ĺngermanland one of the country's food specialties derives, fermented herring (Surströmming). This is herring that has been preserved by fermentation and has a very strong scent.
