Detached house, idyllically located at the edge of the forest in pure nature

In the southeast of Småland, at a small forest path, the small holiday home "Prästlycke" is located.
After only a few kilometers you will reach the coast with some lovely beach sections. The next town is Kalmar which is 30 kilometers away and which can be reached quite fast via the European route E22.

The house has no direct neighbor and will be found on a forest clearing. Here you can only hear the sounds of nature, an ideal place to take a break from everyday life and to live a quiet life!

The small house has a living space of about 50 square meters. You will have electricity and the drinking water you will get from a well in the garden. In the house there is a bedroom with double bed and a bedloft under the roof with two single beds. The living room has a small fireplace and nice old floorboards. In the small kitchen you will find a cooking facility with two hotplates and oven, a coffe machine and cooking utensils. In an adjacent building there is a modern dry toilet and a washing facility. In the garden you can take a shower by using warm water. A narrow steep staircase leads to the bedloft under the roof.

In the garden you will also find a grill and garden furniture. The beautiful surrounding invites to go for a walk, for berry-picking, mushroom-picking or for a cycle tour. The "World of Glass" with its famous glassworks is really suited for an excursion in the same way as the town of Kalmar with its castle and the lively pedestrian area. The "sun island" of Öland can be easily reached from Kalmar via the Öland bridge.

You can go exploring here a lot of things like lighthouses, sandy beaches and nature reserves, for example, the moorland area "Alvaret" which is quite unique in Europe. The Swedish royal family has their summer residence on Öland, and the park, belonging to it, is open to the public. But also the amusement park „Astrid Lindgren´s World“ in Vimmerby can be visited by means of a day trip, really a "must" for families!

    Småland

No other historical province of Sweden is probably as well known as Småland. This is partly because of the immense popularity of the childrens' books of Astrid Lindgren, who allowed many of her stories to take place there, where she grew up herself. Småland has more to offer though than the idyll of Katthult…
While the vast majority of the stories in Lönneberga or the children of Noisy Village are known, few know about the highly interesting history of this historic province. This once consisted of many small areas (in Swedish: små land). They had the right on own legal systems and assemblies. This evolved into the areas differences and quirks that are still characteristic for the region: The historical Småland is now divided into five provinces Jönköping län, Kalmar län Kronoberg, Halland and Östergötlands län.
Småland is located in the southern part of Sweden, extending from the Baltic coast to the northwest by the Vättern lake. It borders to the historic provinces of Skåne and Blekinge in the south and to Östergötland, Västergötland and Halland in the north west. As different as the regions is the nature of Småland: Extensive coniferous forests interspersed with large swamps, and again there are many smaller and larger lakes. Just as we know it from the film adaptations of the childrens' books of Astrid Lindgren.
Småland is not only famous as the scene of Astrid Lindgren's stories, which can be admired at the amusement park "Astrid Lindgren's World" in Vimmerby. Småland is also known for its glass factories. In the Kingdom of Crystal (Swedish: Glasriket) around the city of Växjö you can visit the glass blowers craft in 14 active glass blowing workshops, and exhibitions of glass art invite you to admire the crafts. Other cities well worth a visit are for example Jönköping and Oskarshamn.
So visit the varied Småland and you enter into the idyllic scenery of the stories of Astrid Lindgren, in typically Scandinavian nature and the fascinating world of glass art!
