Holiday home 45 kilometers away from Uppsala

This charming small holiday home offers enough room for up to four persons and it is located in the Swedish Uppland region.

It consists of a bedroom with two single beds which also can be placed as double bed. In the living room you will find an open fire and a sofa bed for two persons. From the living room you will reach the veranda with a dining area for four persons.
An air-air heat pump is installed in the house which means that you can easily generate both heat in winter and cold in summer. Out of the water tap and the shower runs so-called summer water which comes from an own well. The quality is good (tested in 2011) and also suitable for drinking.

In the small pump house next door you can get water all year round. However, the water pipe to the holiday home is turned off if temperature is below zero.

Only about 150 meters away from the holiday home you will find a beautiful place for bathing where you can with pleasure start your day with a plunge into the refreshing water.
As destinations for excursions could be recommended especially the university town of Uppsala (45 km away) or why not the "larger sister", the capital of Stockholm which is also suited for day trips.

    Uppland

Uppland is a province located on the east coast bordering to the Mälaren lake and is one of the provinces in which the capital, Stockholm, is located in. The second part is located in Södermanland. Traditionally, the line between the two provinces is drawn in the water between the old town and the district of Södermalm in central Stockholm.
Uppland has about 1.3 million inhabitants, making it the country's most populous region. Of course it has to do with Stockholm and its many job oppurtunites. However, many live in one of all those cities and towns in the Mälardalen region. Many people commute for example from and to Sweden's fourth largest city Uppsala (about 160 000 inhabitants).
Uppsala is a picturesque university town characterized by the river of Fyrisån, which flows through the city, the cathedral (Gothic brick building dating from 1435 and the largest church in Scandinavia) and the castle. This silhouette is something most inhabitants want to keep, which has lead to the fact that only a few buildings exceed five-six storeys. The University culture is strong and it is perhaps Sweden's most popular university. Fifteen Nobel Prize winners have studied or worked at the university, and among its alumni eight regents and fourteen prime ministers can be found.
Uppland has 130,000 known archaeological sites and a number of hiking trails for those interested. And we can recommend Roslagen, the archipelago that spreads out along the coast, both on the mainland and islands.
Come to the Uppland and experience everything from urban to nature!
