Holiday home in dream location directly at the lake Vättern

This lovely holiday home named "Nissebo" will be found somewhat outside the locality of Ödeshög directly at the second largest lake of Sweden, the Vättern.
The absolute highlight of the accomodation is its terrace with a fantastic view of the lake. Here you can also sunbathe in a pleasant way. For the evenings you will have a glazed veranda with six seats available.

The heart of the holiday home is the combined living room/dining room with an open fire. The kitchen corner is only small but practical, with all necessary kitchen utensils. There are two bedrooms with four beds in the house. Two more beds will be found in the guest hut next door. There is also a toilet and a shower in the house.

The lake Vättern is a deep and clear lake, so that the local authority district gets its drinking water from the lake. You will have good opportunities here to go for a refreshing swim right at the cliffs/rocks at the waterfront. If you are looking for a more child-friendly sandy beach, so you are also right just here. The largest place for bathing of the north has the name "Varamon" and will be found here in the vicinity.
Simply enjoy this beautiful view, nature and peace/stillness, far away from the stress of a town and a terraced house.

The surrounding of the holiday home offers a lot of activities, as for example the mountain "Omberg" with its unusual flora and fauna.
You are looking for something sweet?! Then you should go to Gränna (20 km away), the town of the "Polkagrisar" (sticks of candy). Gränna is a real summer pearl with a lot of cosy restaurants and a beautiful harbor area.
And if you are just here at that place, you can make a trip by ferry boat to the island of Visningsö. When you reach the island, you can either rent a bicycle or go on a tour with horse and carriage to go exploring the island. Here, at the southern tip, you will find, for example, the first capital of Sweden, or to be more exactly, the remains of it.
But you can also pack the rucksack to make a tour on the hiking trail named "Östergötlandleden", which has a length of 1000 km, certainly a special experience for all your dears.

Infos about the region Västergötland

In western Sweden, we find Västergötland, which is not to be confused with the Västra Götaland Län (county), since their borders differ. Västergötland is home to the famous plains of Västergötland, which consists of several separate plains. This region is very fertile and located slightly north of the province's geographical center. The northern part of the province has relatively few lakes, but the lake Hornborgasjön famous for its famous “crane dance” (mating of the birds) can be found here.
If we have a look further south, we find numerous lakes including Mjörn, Anten, Ĺsunden,Lyngen and Fegen. Try your luck at fishing!
Not to be overlooked is that also Vänern is located here, Sweden's largest lake covering an area of 5648 sq. km and has a volume of 153 km3. It lies 44 meters above sea level and is Europe's third largest. Among the world's largest lakes it’s placed on the 29th place.
Västergötland is one of the oldest cultural areas. The city of Gothenburg is located partly in Västergötland, it borders to Bohuslän at Hisingen in Gothenburg. With its around 550,000 inhabitants its Sweden's second largest city and offers a variety of activities, including Liseberg amusement park.
