On an own peninsula directly at the water

you will find this accomodation consisting of a small log cabin with one room as a combination of kitchen, dining place and living room as well as terrace and bedloft under the roof.
The hut is simply and charming furnished/equipped but there is no electricity and no running water.
You have to do the cooking either by means of a gasol cooker with two plates or on a charcoal grill. There is an outside toilet at the property and you cannot go by car directly up to the house.
Well, was that enough as a deterrent?!
People who like comfort and conveniences should better keep away from this accomodation. This idyllic domicile is impressive above all because of the beautiful location and will be a real pearl for those of you who are indeed looking for absolute peace, stillness and seclusion and who can also go without the daily update of their Facebook status.
Around the peninsula you will have access to several places for bathing and no direct neighbors (400 m distance). The peninsula is overgrown with fir trees, on the one side you will find deep water and on the other side shallow water. You will seldom encouter a human being here, so that you can nearly feel like Robinson Crusoe. And in addition the peninsula is relatively free of disturbing insects.
The lake "Skattungssjön" is part of the Ore Älv and an idyllically located area east of the locality of Orsa. The nearest locality is Furuda where you can buy petrol and foodstuffs. Here you will also find a tourist infomation, café and restaurant.
A larger town is Orsa, the home of the famous bear park and of the skiing area Grönklitt. In Mora you will find the "Tomteland" (land of the dwarfs and elves), and the concert arena "Dalhalla" will attract you in Rättvik, in case the stillness and loneliness at the lake will become too boring one day.

Infos about the region Dalarna

Dalarna in central Sweden, located northwest of Stockholm, has a long border towards Norway. The name of the province (Eng: “the valleys”) originates in the province's natural character. Miles of forests, mountains, lakes and villages around Lake Siljan, with Leksand, Mora and Orsa as major cities. Siljan region's tourism center is located in Dalarna.
But it is not only the wonderful natural landscape that has made Dalarna well known. The picturesque villages with red houses, painted in "Falu Red Paint" and the province's rich folk culture have named Dalarna "The most Swedish province in Sweden." In the resort Nusnäs at Siljan lake the famous "Dala horses" are manufactured, which have become popular symbols in whole Sweden.
Historically seen, Dalarna had great significance. The population of Dalarna has always been self-minded and often revolted and rebelled against the various kings. King Gustav Vasa fled here from captivity in Denmark and managed to persuade a Dalarna rebellion against Denmark after having traveled from his pursuers on skis from Sälen to Mora. The Danes were defeated and Gustav Vasa became king of Sweden. Even today, a major ski competition takes place on this site called "Vasaloppet".
In addition, in the landscape around Lake Siljan Dalarna offers large areas with wilderness character. There are mountains, large forests, rivers and lakes and large marshes. Here you can find solitude, fishing, go hiking or try river rafting.
