Welcome to one of the pearls of Lake Mälaren, Selaön, which has a bridge connection and is Northern Europe's largest freshwater lake.

Here you will find the tranquility of the countryside yet close to the picturesque small towns of Mariefred and Strängnäs with its old neighborhoods with beautiful wooden houses, promenades, and attractions such as Gripsholm Castle, Strängnäs Cathedral and windmill.
From the ports, you can go boating on Lake Mälaren to places such Taxinge Castle which has the largest cake buffet, island of Birka, or why not make a seafood cruise.

To Stockholm City takes an hour and the next largest cities Eskilstuna and Södertälje Park Zoo and Tom Tits Exprimentverkstad takes about 50 minutes.
Selaöns nearest place called Stallarholmen, here you can buy food, snacks, eat,
refuel, shop in small shops, to buy bread from one of the bakeries or visit Solberga Eko village.

At the holiday home you can enjoy the forest tranquility and walking. Here you can pick berries and mushrooms in season, or sit by the water and enjoy the amazing view, swim, fish, barbecue or let the kids play at the playground.

The house is a charming accommodation of 42 sqm, 2,000 sqm of land with approximately 100 m to swimming and fishing in Lake Mälaren.
The house has kitchen, bathroom with water toilet and shower, living room with sofa bed 160 cm and a bedroom with double bed 160 cm. On the same plot there is a room of 5 sqm with a bunk bed 2x80 cm. There is also a raised terrace outside with exit from lounge and a lawn for games and play.

In the house there is additional equipment such as WiFi, microwave, kettle, radio, TV, DVD, CD player, air heat and central vacuum.

Infos about the region Södermanland

The province borders in the south to Östergötland, in the west to Närke, in the northwest to Västmanland, in the northeast to Uppland and in the east and southeast to the Baltic Sea.
The capital Stockholm is situated partly in Södermanland. The second part is located in Uppland. Traditionally, the line between the two provinces is drawn in the water between the old town and the district of Södermalm in central Stockholm.
Södermanland, popularly known as Sörmland, refers to the land south of the lake Mälaren. Like Uppland in the north, the province has numerous ancient remains (nearly 100,000) and a large population that approximately amounts to 1.1 million people.
The province is dominated by lowland and wooded hills, and of the many lakes. So it is a typical flat landscape; Södermanland is nowhere more than 200 meters above sea level.
The characteristic landscape type is formed by a combination of faults that mainly go in the direction from the east to the west, and large river valleys. Through these faults the land sunk from the south to the north, so that the crack along the fault on the north side was lowered, while the south remained.
Södermanland is also the center of the Swedish nobility with a variety of mansions.
Just as Södermanland, Uppland has a fantastic archipelago, both the part called the Stockholm Archipelago (east of Södermanland's Södertörn peninsula) and the one outside the coast of Södermanland.
