Welcome to Ornö - a large island in the southern skerry landscape of Sweden. Ornö is 12 km long and offers beautiful lakes where you can swim, deep woods for walks and varied countryside with abundant wildlife.

The island is easily accessible, the ferry from Dalarö crosses in just 25 minutes and then it takes ten minutes by car to the house. Alternatively, you can take the bus from Stockholm.

The property has 1,100 square feet and offers a large lawn. The main house with a floor space of 86 square meters consists of a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom / office with a comfortable sofa bed, a kitchen, a bathroom and a workspace. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge / freezer, dishwasher, stove, microwave, coffee grinder and kettle. It also offers a comfortable dining area for four persons. In addition, a bathroom with dry toilet, shower and washing machine are available. The living room is bright and spacious with a fireplace, 42 "TV, blueray / DVD player and Apple TV.

The guest house is 10 square meters with a 120 cm bed. The large sheltered veranda has a large gas grill and plenty of space for eating and drinking coffee or just for reading a book in the sun.

Here you live in a community with access to two fine tennis courts (40 SEK / h) and a football field 200 meters from the house. It is 400 meters to the small sandy beach and you can rent the large fine sauna (40 SEK / h) which is located on its own island about 600 meters from the house.

Ornö is very bike-friendly, and the landlords are happy to lend you two. There is also an open boat with an outboard motor which can be hired separately.
Ornö is a very quiet island, there are no artificial tourist attractions and only few tourists. Here is a small museum and a good restaurant that also has a small grocery store.
Thus, Resarö is an oasis for those who love nature and who enjoy peace and quiet, forest walks, sea and wildlife. Ornö is known for its butterflies and you can often see eagles and ospreys. Deers often stroll around the property and even mooses can be discovered sometimes.

Infos about the region Stockholm

Our beautiful capital city, also known as the "Venice of the North", is the country's and Scandinavia’s largest city. The inner city has about 850,000 inhabitants and the entire greater Stockholm area more than 2 million. It attracts visitors from all over the world, the number is around 1 million annually.
Stockholm is not a province but is located in Uppland as well as in Södermanland. Since the 17th century the border between Södermanland and Uppland is located in the middle of the water between the districts of Södermalm and the Old Town.
The city is built on water and consists of 14 islands, which are interconnected with bridges. These are located on islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea.
Stockholm has a 750-year history and offers a rich cultural life and a variety of attractions. You can get around by bus, subway or boat. But walking will actually also get you far!
If you want to experience a fantastic view over the city, we recommend a visit to the town hall, where you can climb up into its tower.
The heart of the city is the Old Town with its extremely well-preserved medieval town center. The Old Town is also where you will find the Royal Castle and the Cathedral.
On the green island of Djurgĺrden some of Stockholm's most popular attractions can be found. Visit the world famous warship Vasa, the world's oldest open air museum Skansen, or Astrid Lindgren's amusement park Junibacken as well as Gröna Lund's tivoli. Do not miss to see Stockholm from the water. And should 14 islands not be enough, visit the amazing archipelago with 30,000 islands, islets and reefs.
Welcome to Sweden's capital Stockholm!
