Close to wilderness in Swedish Lapland

Located in the middle of the forest where silence and the power of nature are constantly present.
Midnight sun, northern lights and full moon over white snow cover give a magical feeling, even for us who live here north of the Arctic Circle.

We want to share the experiences with you!

A great value can be to find peace for those who need a break in the information-packed world we many live in.
It is 2 km to the nearest neighbor and the cottage is self-catering.

Here is the right place for you who like outdoor life, hunting and fishing.
Perfect place to start from for mountain biking after nice small roads and off-track training on small paths near the cottage.

Lapland is very unique and from Göte's cottage you can experience magical, fantastic natural phenomena.
Northern lights, full moon over snow-covered landscape, midnight sun and proximity to genuine wilderness.
Great access is the proximity to Muddus National Park and the Arctic Circle.

Or maybe best for you who want a moment for yourself and just be?
Here you connect both Wi-Fi and internet, to instead connect the connection to nature and yourself.

Here you live the simple life that is both comfortable and warm with gas stove and wood burning stove.
Natural luxury with self-catering with kitchen that is fully equipped.
There is a gas refrigerator during the summer and in the winter food is kept cold by the natural cold in a "refrigerator", which is built into the pantry.
Just like before.

There is a genuine wood-fired sauna located right on the lake shore. Here, the right ideas can begin!
Be amazed at how clean you feel in both body and soul after a nice sauna bath.
The brave man rolls in the sparkling snow or takes a dip in the lake.
Jump in directly from the sauna terrace!
If you want to try ice bathing, you can of course arrange.

The outdoor toilet has a separate function and is located in the same building as the woodshed, just behind the house.

Solar cells give you lighting indoors and because we care about the environment, all waste is recycled.
The food waste is composted and becomes new soil to grow potatoes in.

Freezer, washing machine and dishwasher can be arranged elsewhere for those who wish, at an additional cost.

The cottage is located in the middle of the wilderness which feels far away but which is still close.
The small village of Nattavaara is within 2 km and you get to the cottage by car along the small forest road.
If transport from train and bus is desired, it can be arranged, at an additional cost. Car rental is available in Gällivare 50 km from Nattavaaraby.

Grocery store, train station and bus stop are also in the village.

Göte's cottage gives you a chance to recharge new life energy and enjoy the beautiful and wild nature right next to the cottage.
You take part in a rich wildlife and lush flora with moose, reindeer and forest birds as well as a variety of flowers and medicinal plants.

In the area around Nattavaaraby there are also the Big Four; lynx, bear, wolverine, golden eagle and sometimes wolf on the move.
These animals are very shy and only the lucky one can see a glimpse of them.

Infos about the region Lapland

Lapland is Sweden’s biggest and most northern historical province and has borders with Norway and Finland. The province has less than 1 inhabitant per square kilometer and comprises more than one fourth of Sweden’s land area.
Lapland is the province of contrasts: There is Sweden’s highest mountain, the Kebnekaise, as well as Sweden’s deepest lake, the Hornavan. While there is permafrost in the mountain areas, temperatures of 25 degrees centigrade can easily be reached in summer in the lower areas. But not only considering the climate the differences in this area are huge; you will even find a large diversity in the languages spoken in this area. Next to Swedish, there are the minority languages Finnish, Sami and the Finnish Meänkieli dialect. Many villages and cities have Sami or Meänkieli names. The Sami, the native population of this area, had their first nomad settlements along the rivers and lakes of this area maybe already 9000 years ago.
The county can even provide UNESCO world heritage: the Laponian area, consisting of 4 national parks and 2 nature preserves. In general, Norrbottens län can be seen as one huge nature preserve. In the whole province, there are 165 nature preserves, 47 protection areas for birds and 8 national parks, which make out more than 90% of all Sweden’s nature preservation areas.
The cold winter climate allows some very unusual attractions: Every fall there is an ice hotel built in Jukkasjärvi, approximately 200 km north of the arctic circle.
So, if you wish to spend your holiday in a lonely nature, Lapland is the right place for you. If you don’t mind frost, then you will have the biggest chances to see an Aurora in Norrbotten in winter. And in summer, when it can be even warmer than 25 degrees north of the arctic circle, you can see the Midnight Sun.
