Description

The timbered house from the 1700s, which is part of a very beautiful mansion, lies undisturbed located in west just beside Mälaren's beach.

The holiday home is more than 200 sqm large and in two floors, has four bedrooms (two on each floor) with a total of 7 beds.
Bathroom with shower and washing machine. The kitchen has a stove with oven, dishwasher and large dining area.
The garage with space for a car has entrance directly to the kitchen. The house offers two living areas, one with TV.
Many old interior details are kept with stoves, wooden floors and beamed ceilings and there are therefore low beamed ceilings in some of the doorways where the house has been built through centuries- which one has to be careful about if you are tall!

Outside the holiday house you can enjoy the sun all day, and there is a seating area and barbecue.
At the jetty, with its bathhouse, one can swim from the ladder and it is shared with the landlord family, as well as the sauna with a lake view located right next door.

In the summer months there is a rich bird life in the bay. The migratory birds come in spring and until midsummer is seen full of chicks in the water and on land.
The nearest neighbor is the old manor house dating back to the 1600's surrounded by an English park with linden and bloodbook. The mansion's market garden is actively operated and is open all year long. There you can buy plants and health-eating herbs or enjoy a cup of coffee and homemade cakes.
In the pastures of the farm, cows graze in summer.

When the fall comes, you will enjoy long walks and maybe picking mushrooms in the woods and the fields surrounding the farm. In winter, when the ice is situated, it is possible to go cross-country skating or go skiing if the snow has settled on the ice.
A little supermarket is 1 km away.

The nearby smaller towns of Enköping and Strängnäs are about 15 km away in either direction.
Enköping is famous for its many beautiful gardens / parks with walkways and has several good restaurants. Strängnäs with its enchanting history has a cathedral and old wooden houses. The town is beautifully located with a marina by the water. Summer time is full of small restaurants around the sea.
Mariefred about 30 km away is a real tourist city with picturesque city center, Gripsholms Slott and museum railway.

Stockholm is approximately 90 km from here, with easy departures (either half an hour) from either Enköping (40min) or Strängnäs (50min). Both trainstations are about 15 km away.
Airports distance: Arlanda about 1 hour, Skavsta Nyköping about 1 hour 30min

Infos about the region Södermanland

The province borders in the south to Östergötland, in the west to Närke, in the northwest to Västmanland, in the northeast to Uppland and in the east and southeast to the Baltic Sea.
The capital Stockholm is situated partly in Södermanland. The second part is located in Uppland. Traditionally, the line between the two provinces is drawn in the water between the old town and the district of Södermalm in central Stockholm.
Södermanland, popularly known as Sörmland, refers to the land south of the lake Mälaren. Like Uppland in the north, the province has numerous ancient remains (nearly 100,000) and a large population that approximately amounts to 1.1 million people.
The province is dominated by lowland and wooded hills, and of the many lakes. So it is a typical flat landscape; Södermanland is nowhere more than 200 meters above sea level.
The characteristic landscape type is formed by a combination of faults that mainly go in the direction from the east to the west, and large river valleys. Through these faults the land sunk from the south to the north, so that the crack along the fault on the north side was lowered, while the south remained.
Södermanland is also the center of the Swedish nobility with a variety of mansions.
Just as Södermanland, Uppland has a fantastic archipelago, both the part called the Stockholm Archipelago (east of Södermanland's Södertörn peninsula) and the one outside the coast of Södermanland.
